Effective October 1, 2024, Dr. David Good will replace Dr. Sandip Sengupta as Deputy Head of the Department of Pathology & Molecular Medicine and Medical Director of KHSC Clinical Laboratories.
We are grateful to Dr. Sengupta for 40 years of distinguished service in Kingston and wish him well in his new role as Chair of Pathology at North York General Hospital.
Dr. Good serves as Service Chief of the Division of Hematopathology at Queen's University and Kingston Health Sciences Centre. He also Chairs the Hematological Pathology Examination Board at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and the Hematology Scientific Committee for Ontario’s Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH).
Dr. Good is a clinical innovator who has led regional standardization initiatives in hematology and hemostasis, including a project funded by Ontario Health, successfully implementing a regional digital pathology network for blood film review. His contributions to research and education are widely recognized, making him a sought-after collaborator in hematopathology research and a leading educator locally and nationally in hematopathology, including hemostasis and lymphoma pathology.
In his new role, Dr. Good will oversee the clinical laboratories. He and his distinguished team will drive quality improvement and innovation. We wish Dr. Good a warm welcome to the new role, and are grateful for his service.
