I am very happy to announce the appointment of Dr. Curtis Oleschuk as Service Chief for Clinical Chemistry at KHSC effective January 1 2021. Curtis takes over this role from Dr. Sandip Sengupta who has provided interim coverage since the retirement of Dr. Michael Chan.
Curtis joined us in September from Diagnostic Services in Winnipeg although he knows Kingston very well, having completed his PhD here in 2004 under the supervision of our own Dr. Susan Cole. Curtis did his Fellowship in Clinical Chemistry at McMaster University and has special interests in forensic toxicology, utilization management and quality improvement and holds a Green Belt Six Sigma Quality Improvement Certification.
I would like to recognize Dr. Sengupta for his coverage of this role over the last few months and also Dr. Yun Huang, Clinical Chemist and Director of Point of Care Testing, and Donnah Pocius, manager of clinical chemistry, for their hard work in supporting the chemistry service during this time of transition.
Please welcome Curtis to his new role.
