David Good, MD, FRCPC is the Medical Director of Clinical Laboratories and Service Chief for Hematopathology at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC). He is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at Queen’s University.
Dr. Good began his career as a medical laboratory technologist, completing a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Science before earning his medical degree at the University of Alberta. He completed residency training in Hematological Pathology at the University of Toronto, followed by a two-year fellowship in lymphoma pathology at the BC Cancer Agency in Vancouver.
In his role at KHSC, Dr. Good provides medical leadership and oversight for all Clinical Laboratory services, including the hematology and hemostasis laboratories at KHSC and affiliated community hospitals. His interests include laboratory quality, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in diagnostic services.
Dr. Good is actively involved in medical education, teaching residents and medical students at Queen’s University. He has held numerous leadership roles at the provincial and national level, including 10 years on the Institute for Quality Management in Healthcare (IQMH) Hematology Scientific Committee, serving as Chair for three years. He also served for 13 years on the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Hematological Pathology Examination Board, including five years as Chair, where he led the transition to a digital examination format.
